Beginnings on the outside of the house

The Beginnings of our Journey

Hey! Welcome to our humble beginnings!

Thanks for taking the time to check out the beginnings of our website and business! If you’ve never done a renovation you will understand that things always go perfectly and it looks just as fun as it does on HGTV! Not really… we have been working on for nearly a half a year! We have put a lot of time and passion into creating Betty’s Bungalow’s design image! We hope you enjoy reading through the coming posts. They will try to capture the fun times, the frustrating obstacles, and the overall awesome task of flipping this house!  Take some time following this diary series, as we add new content in the coming weeks!

Today’s Post

We are going to show the very first photos we took after buying the house, including some candid shots of Emily and her dad Keith getting some initial measurements. We spent a ton of time after purchasing this house trying to figure out how to best maximize the space and make it a contemporary expression of our design tastes, while still maintaining the older charm. Many of these photos include the basement, which still remains unfinished. We might return to it in the future, but we are excited with the overall transformation upstairs and outside!

Speaking of the outside, I completely forgot about how much of a turnaround occurred out there. We went from having the ugliest looking house on the block to being one of the best. The next door neighbors loved what we were doing and have been visiting every few weeks to check out our progress. They know how much of a difference our work is making to the neighborhood and are excited for our ideas of creating a community between those who pass through our doors, and stay in our lives through the relationships we build!

Check back soon!

Thanks for taking the time to check on the beginnings of Betty’s Bungalow’s transformation! Stay tuned for more posts detailing the renovation in the future!
